Obama's Not a Socialist, Look at His Tax Plan OR: Framing the Argument
People in the media keep saying: the Obama tax plan is not socialist, McCain said this in nineteen ninety something.
They are framing the argument. Obama's tax plan appeals to the majority. That's what you need to win a democratic (popularity contest) election. Obama's record and public statements (pre-election censorship), though, indicates a socialist, racist, philosophy. McCain's record, while not untarnished, is the lesser of two evils for the average rational, capitalist, non-racist American.

Obama Wants To Take Your Money and Give it to Blacks: That's Racism
Definitions
Racism: Prejudice or discrimination based on an individual's race; can be expressed individually or through institutional policies or practices
Politicians often use high-falutin' words to make their statements sound authoritative. Despite the vernacular obfuscation, this radio broadcast indicates one of Obama's true intentions: take money, from white people or the general populace, and give it to civil rights beneficiaries (blacks). Take from whites, give to blacks. That is racism. If you oppose racism, and/or if you are white (or possibly, just a tax payer), you are not going to be hurt by an Obama presidency.

There Was Once a Dream That Was Rome ...
You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would vanish, it was so fragile.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0172495/quotes
The American dream is such a dream as Rome. I pray for its survival. And I think it will come true if the content of our candidates' characters are truly judged, as MLK dreamed.

The Quote I want to see from McCain
McCain was challenged on "Meet the Press" on his socialist capitulations.
This is what I wanted him to say:
Sometimes, in the name of the greater good, in order to live to fight another day, you loose a battle or surrender a position. I'll be honest with you, I have not always voted my conscious. I have backed the leaders of the Republican party, I have towed the party line, I have bent but not broken. You see contradictions in my statements, and I see them, too. What I hope you also see, is that while I may not have always been able to hold my ground, I have never totally given up the fight. I keep saying it, but look at my record! Look at Obama's record! I've been the one fighting for the little guy! I've been the one fighting against big government! I have been the one fighting for traditional American values, the values our forefathers founded the country on. My opponent is backing radical political ideologies that are known to fail and he's poisoning this country that I love.
Unfortunately, the press has a field day when McCain is honest about the politics:

A Note On Power
Why does the Bush administration practice and the Obama camp preach, socialism?
It's about the power. Notice from previous posts that capitalism empowers free people. This keeps the leaders beholden to the people. This is as our founders intended.
Socialism, in contrast, enslaves the population, and in concert empowers government leaders. It's difficult to protest when the target of your protest controls the means of production and reproduction; gives you your food and owns your apartment.

Socialism vs Capitalism - All About Pies
Definitions
Socialism: An economic system in which the basic means of production are primarily owned and controlled collectively, usually by government under some system.
Capitalism: An economic and social system in which individuals can maximize profits because they own the means of production.
A Short Example
Capitalism
I am a delivery person. I own my car. I depend on my car for my livelihood, so I take care of it. I have the oil changed. I might even choose to buy a more fuel efficient car because that will save me money. The money I save I spend on more pie.
Socialism
I am a delivery person. The state owns all delivery people's cars (to help spread the wealth around). I don't bother changing the oil in the car, because if it breaks down the government will just get me a new one (until the whole system fails). I can't convince them to let me have a more fuel efficient car, and it doesn't matter much to me anyway because the state pays for the gas. Because the state has to pay more for gas and broken cars, my state supplied ration for pie gets reduced.
This is why people fled Russia and still flee China. You become a slave to the state, and have little control over your life.
Obama has not proposed nationalizing delivery people's cars (yet), however, his record indicates his direction. Note that Bush has done this, too. The majority of McCain's rhetoric is pro-capitalism. Ron Paul's is way pro-capitalism.

More Obama Socialism
Socialism is a fail-slow, feel-good, ideology that destroys individuals: http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/10/why_obamas_socialism_matters_1.html

A King's Dillema - Moral Justification for Money Creation?
The great and honorable King sat on the throne he had earned through many years of honest, free, capitalist labor, troubled. He had been given foresight, knowledge of the effects his actions would have on his land and his country. His foresight was imperfect, but he now saw trouble coming. An army was amassing in the East that could destroy his people.
He also knew that none of the people would believe him, that his fortune would not be enough to hire the people to defend themselves. And even if it was, it wouldn't be fair to him to save his people and destitute himself. The only available option was to create money, by deceiving the people, one by one as to the size of his fortune, and thereby taxing them without their knowledge or understanding. He further knew that he would be the last to use this power to help the people, that the power was actually a way to enslave them.
Er, I don't know where to go from here ...

CEO of the USA
Adelman says that he's voting for Obama, not because of his principles, but because of his intellect: Conservatives for Obama. To me, this is like trading someone who will fight for you, be it poorly, for someone who will very skillfully fight against you.
This vaguely resembles a Buffet saying. Buffet describes three qualities he looks for in a CEO:
If s/he doesn't have the third, you really hope they're lazy and stupid. I prefer making imperfect progress in the right direction to efficiently heading the wrong way.

Deflation
It costs less to fill up my gas tank today than a year ago: gas prices fall.
Plus, if you hadn't noticed, stocks and houses are cheaper. Even gold is down. That's deflation baby. But knowing that Paulson is injecting like a tenderloin resident an hour after getting a welfare check; why aren't prices through the roof?
If nothing else changes, I agree with the video: we'll see mild deflation for one to three months, after which we'll experience hyperinflation.
Buffet was slightly premature (Oct 17, 2008):
Note that this is blatant Socialism.

- fear savings
- people, and institutions, are scared to spend any money they have
- this means more money in the safe, less in circulation
- credit crunch
- decreased available credit = deflation
- trickle down inflation
- Paulson is throwing money at big institutions, it will take a while before we feel the effect

Just To Clarify ...
I don't want McCain to be president. I want Ron Paul to be president. After Ron Paul, I wouldn't mind Chuck Baldwin. McCain is way down the line. Once you get to McCain, though, Obama is still a good ways further.

Economic Slight of Hand
Big Government vs. Small Government ~ Which is Best?
It's easy to play tricks with numbers. Multipliers and reserves (money creation) and such. I prefer to take a different approach. There are fixed resources (labor and capital) at any given time. The government currently lays claim to a subset of the available resources, as does private enterprise and individuals. Depending on your beliefs as to the role of government, the government should either increase, decrease (or maintain the status quo) it's claim on those resources.
In my opinion and experience, the lives of citizens are improved when they, as free people, control the bulk of the resources; particularly when those resources pertain to their trade and/or quality of life. And I agree with McCain, that when we're given responsibility for our own success, we usually increase our pies (resources), and when we let the government run our lives our pies usually diminish. Bush moved the claim on resources to his socialist elites and we're in a mess. Obama will move it to his socialist cronies, and we'll be in a bigger mess. McCain, with his small government and low tax rhetoric, and his ornery personage, will likely reduce the government's claims on resources and/or reduce its effectiveness at shrinking our pies: which is just what I want.

King of "Media Elite" Decries McCain Voters Racist
First, let me write that I think Larry David is brilliant. I even liked his show Curb Your Enthusiasm more than Seinfeld. He's also, apparently, using his skill to spin the election by calling everyone who votes for McCain a racist.
Waiting for Nov. 4th
He does it subtly by inferring that if McCain wins it's either because those who voted for him are racist or the election was rigged. So now, even if you prefer McCain's life long service, or his defense of tax-payers' money, or any other non-race related issue, you're a racist.
I wonder why he's not looking at the percent of black voters who are voting for Obama just because he's black. I bet it's a lot more than the number of white voters voting for McCain just because he's white. And I'd wager there are a lot of white voters voting for Obama because he is black, hoping that this is the last guilt payment asked of them. It won't be. Mr. David and others will never allow that.

A Note on Associations
The reason you want to know about Ayers (former domestic terrorist), Occidental College (teaches Marxist Socialism), Reverend Wright ("God Damn America"), and Obama Sr. (read other post), is because these are people who have had an influence on Obama during his formative years and could have easily perturbed (brainwashed) even the strongest mind.

Obama may suffer some sort of inadequacy psychological problem due to his father's abandonment. Note that his father conceived him while still married to his first wife; who he left when she was pregnant, never divorced, and returned to later. He divorced Obama's mother when Barack was 2 and married his third wife who he also left. Went home to Kenya and as an government economist promoted socialism, then ended his life as a drunkard.

My Financial Plan
- Pull a Schwarzenegger
- Veto everything until a balanced budget is signed
- Print money to pay down the national debt
- Pay off 5% a year
- Yes, I mean print money like a counterfeiter, don't pretend it's a different debt
- This will cause inflation, which will actually make it less painful to pay off our creditors
- End Fractional Reserve Banking
- Proportional to debt reduction
- "Tragedy of the Commons" taxes (sin taxes), and a mildly progressive real estate tax
- Taxing is hard!
- What are you willing to discourage?
- Accounts for "externalizations" - E.G. polluting but not paying for it
- Discourages large land holdings, t.f. increases small land holdings: house size holdings
Just found the Monetary Reform Act which is very similar.
Second Debate
McCain the "De-Regulator" pushes a bill that gives regulators authority over the criminal acts being performed by Fannie Mae in 2005, when something could be done about it. I guess he understands that theft is wrong even in free markets, probably a lesson hard learned from his Keating experience. Obama profits from Fannie Mae, and in 2007, when nothing could be done to stop the subprime meltdown, scapegoats Paulson and Bernanke by writing an open letter saying that they need to do something. http://tpmcafe.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/2008/03/obamas-year-old-letter-to-bern.php - by the way, watch the videos and you'll see the regulators getting beaten up by Obama's Democratic cronies for trying to do their job. The only regulation Obama was behind was suing banks that did not issue enough subprime loans (again, watch the videos).
Do NOT buy up bad mortgages! Let them fail! Let the market correct or we'll be totally screwed! Let the banks renegotiate loans if it's in their best interest, but don't force banks, nor our American government, to take on more bad debt. I think this is just a political move to try and get people in housing trouble to vote McCain, but it's worse than promising everyone a new pony.
Secretary of the Treasury: draft (or beg) Ron Paul, forget Meg Whitman. I've admired Warren Buffet for some time, but I think he may have finally made a deal with the devil.
One hand giveth -> BS Obama! By taxing employer contributions, you create an even playing field between people who pay for their own insurance and people who get insurance from their company because the company is paying for the insurance with pre-tax dollars. This is makes the self employed and small employer more viable. Thank you McCain for supporting the free market over socialized medicine. If government does everything for everyone, everyone will be working for the government and won't be encouraged to do what they need and want for themselves. Healthcare is your responsibility, like car insurance, home owner's insurance and travel insurance.
Looking around corners: Obama wasn't able to see the subprime fiasco, he won't be able to predict the moves of our enemies.
Unlike Obama, McCain isn't telling the American people he's going to be the next president, he's asking us to let him serve us and his country.
